What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept payment by MasterCard, Visa and American Express.  Our website is secured by an SSL certificate which protects your credit card information with 256-bit data encryption.  It is a one-time transfer and we do not store your credit card data in our system. 

How will my order be shipped?

We ship within the United States via UPS or FedEx ground unless expedited shipping is requested.  Please note that UPS and FedEx ground do not deliver on weekends or to PO boxes. You will receive an automated email from UPS with your tracking number when your order is ready to ship. Most items will ship within 5-7 days from the time you placed your order.  Damage claims on shipped items must be made within 48 hours of your package’s arrival.  Please inspect your purchases immediately upon receipt, as no damage claims will be allowed after 48 hours.

What is your return policy?

We accept returns for a full refund 7 days from the date of purchase only if the item is damaged.  We accept all other returns within 14 days for store credit or exchange.  Restocking fees may apply.  Please call (504)-891-8848 for a return authorization.  Shipping costs are non-refundable and all costs for return shipments are the responsibility of the customer.  The item must be returned in an unused condition and in the original packaging.  It must be well packed and insured for the full purchase amount.  Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.  Rings, special orders and sale merchandise are considered final sales and non-refundable. 

Do you accommodate special orders?

Each piece of jewelry is handcrafted in our studio, therefore lead times vary. Estimated lead times are provided for each item on the website. If an item is not in stock we will notify you immediately with an estimated ship date. We are often able to accommodate special requests. If you would like a necklace in a custom length or a piece in a different metal/finish, please contact us and we will be our best to accommodate your request. Additional charges may apply and keep in mind that Special Orders are final sale and not returnable or exchangeable.  Please direct any questions about ordering or your existing order  to info@marioncage.com or call 504-891-8848. 

What if my jewelry is in need of repair?

We take pride in our craftsmanship and want you to enjoy your jewelry for many years to come.  If an item breaks within 60 days of purchase due to a manufacturing defect, repairs will be made at no cost.  All other repairs, including damaged or worn items, are available and priced upon request.  If your jewelry is in need of repair and was purchased through our website or from our shop in New Orleans, please contact us at sales@marioncage.com or call us at 504-891-8848.  Repair costs will vary depending on the extent of damage to the piece.  Items purchased through retailers must be returned to us via the original retailer in order to process the repair.

How do I determine my ring size?

Obtaining an accurate ring size can be difficult and we suggest that you be sized by your local jeweler prior to ordering a ring. A wide band in a size 6 will fit more snugly than a narrow band in the same size, so such factors must be considered. Other factors such as temperature, salt intake, exercise and travel can also have a dramatic effect on your finger size, so we strongly recommend that you be sized multiple times to accurately determine your ring size. There is no such thing as a ring that fits perfectly at all times and under every condition. Most of our rings can be resized for a $30 fee. We do not resize silver rings.

We offer gift certificates in any denomination, with a $5 charge for shipping.  Please contact us to place an order.

How should I care for my jewelry?

The matte finish on your silver or gold jewelry may burnish or oxidize oiled finish on your wood jewelry may become dull with time.  To restore either of these finishes to their original luster, gently buff with a fine grade steel wool (we recommend #0000, available at most hardware stores).  For silver pieces that are more tarnished, we recommend using silver cleaner without abrasives, like Tarn-X as opposed to conventional silver polish. Blackened silver gradually fades with wear.  While many people appreciate the unique patina, we can re-oxidize your piece for the cost of shipping.
We do not recommend the use of chemicals, commercial cleaners or polishing cloths as they can alter the finish of your jewelry. We strongly recommend removing your jewelry before bathing or swimming. Leather pieces should never be exposed to water. See additional recommendations below.
Sterling silver will tarnish over time. To clean, sprinkle a fair amount of dry baking powder on a soft cloth and rub carefully. Shake the powder off, rinse or wipe clean with a soft cloth. If your jewelry has a satin finish, the metal will become increasingly shiny with wear.  To restore the matte finish, rub the metal with a 3M pad scrubby pad (available at most hardware stores) or we can restore the finish to jewelry purchased through our website for a small fee. Gold can be cleaned with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth.
Oxidized Silver
Oxidized (blackened) silver will burnish and develop highlights over time. Do not use chemicals, commercial cleaners or commercial polishing cloths as they will remove the blackened finish. Fingerprints can be removed with warm, soapy water or a soft cloth. Jewelry purchased through our website can also be reoxidize for a small fee. Please contact the studio for more information.
Leather will soften over time and with wear. Exposure to water will hasten the aging process and cause leather to crack. For this reason, leather pieces should never be exposed to water. Leather necklaces and bracelets purchased from the website can be restrung for a small fee. Please contact the studio for more information.

Where can I purchase Marion Cage jewelry?

In addition to our website and our New Orleans shop/studio, Marion Cage Jewelry is sold in many locations throughout the US.  We love our stores and hope that you will make your purchase locally if there is a store in your area. Any returns, repairs or special orders for items purchased through a local store must be handled by that store

Do you accommodate international orders?

To place orders that will ship internationally, please contact our customer service department at (504)-891-8848 or sales@marioncage.com.  Please keep in mind that we only accept US currency and that you will be responsible for any taxes/duties incurred by destination country.  As we are unable to advise the amount of what these fees might be, we recommend contacting your country's customs office or tax agent for respective charges and rates on a package coming from outside of your country. On very rare occasions international shipping to some countries can take several weeks. We are not responsible for any delays by destination country's customs clearance processes.  All international orders are final sale and cannot be returned for credit.
